Srilanka exhilarates with a tight finish

When we talk about India Srilanka cricket,it always reminds me of swirling Malinga,Classy Sanga,Spinny Mendis, whacking Sehwag and Sachin and cool Dhoni, the only irony is this team doesnt have the last three and it was clearly visible on the field when it comes to handle such a close match.Though the credit goes to Kohli for dragging it till the fag end inspite of Sanga hanging in there but it was classy batting of the latter which finally helped Srilanka to manage a win

When this afternoon SRL won the toss and elected to field first motives were clear, restrict India to a score as low as possible because they knew it would be comparatively easier to bat in the second half.Rohit was looking dicey while negotiating the deliveries while Dhawan was confident right from the first ball. Kohli continued his form from the last game and played some elegant shots all throughout. He and Dhawan put on a partnership close to 100 before being perished by none other than Mendis.Senanayake also bowled well and his tight spell enabled India to finish on 264/9 which was a good total.

Srilanka started well with their openers Thirimane and Perera but one inning worth mentioning was Sangakkara's 100 comprising of 12 fours and 1 six, very composed and solid.Sanga is the only cricketer from SRL who is consistent on every soil and in every conditions. His 100 ensured Srilanka's win though he was dismissed on the 49th over but the match was almost on their grip. The indian bowler who stole the show was Sir Jadeja who was bowling with absolute precision and his 3/30 in 10 over halted India's defeat for a while ,in fact at one point India's win was almost evident.

Inspite of all these we have seen another close match between the two sides, though there were few ups &downs and India's inexperienced side was exposed badly but Srilanka's perseverance has been paid off with some great efforts on the field and elegant batting performances.
I must say-When Sanga is unrest-Srilanka at its best and when Sir Jadeja Bowls, the dream of opponent turmoils.
